The Wiggins Island Coal Terminal Project Scope

Once all three stages are complete in 2020, the Wiggins Island Coal Terminal will have an export capacity of 70million tonnes per year.

The main components of Wiggins Island are:

Three dump stations and three inloading conveyor streams to the stockyard
Coal stockyard and materials handling systems – including automated travelling bridge stackers
Three shiploading conveyor streams serving three shiploaders across four berths
An additional two berths for other purposes (six berths in total)
Internal power distribution, control systems and communications
Substation, workshops, administration, security, amenities and lighting for the coal terminal and rail provisioning facility
  Vegetation planting around the facility
Dust minimisation through automated placement of coal on the stockpile; use of enclosed conveyors; Dust Extinction Moisture (DEM) analysis and the use of water sprays and veneers on the coal surface.
Insulated equipment to reduce noise pollution
Water system management to contain any runoff
